Guy’s experience to date has included a wide variety of assignments from bookkeeping for small owner-managed businesses, to working on some of the firm’s largest charity audit assignments. Guy now manages a portfolio of audit and independent examination clients, most of which are small to medium sized charities and social enterprises. Recent work assignments have included reconfiguring a clients’ accounting software to improve reporting processes, providing VAT advice, and delivering training to a trustee board on management reporting and budgeting. Guy has a specialism in arts charities and regularly advises his clients on creative tax reliefs.

Prior to joining Godfrey Wilson, Guy worked in data management and reporting initially for a counselling service and latterly as a Dashboard Developer for a consultancy firm. Guy achieved a first-class degree in Mathematics from the University of Plymouth. Outside of work Guy is a keen runner, cyclist and swimmer, and enjoys competing in races from 10km up to marathon distance.

On moving to Gloucestershire, Alison worked as Head of Finance & Administration for The Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust (WWT), an international conservation charity. She managed a team of seven staff to run the finance function for the charity which had a turnover of £12m, nine branches and 400 staff.

At Godfrey Wilson, Alison manages a portfolio of charity audits and independent examinations. Alongside this, she enjoys a hands-on role advising clients on a range of issues from charity VAT to cloud-based accounting solutions.

Alison is currently Treasurer for St Peter’s Hospice in Bristol where she chairs both the Resources Committee and Audit Committee. She has previously held trustee roles at Deki, a micro-finance charity working in Africa and Asia, and Saidia Children’s Home, a Kenyan orphanage. She has also volunteered with numerous charities, including working with street children in Kathmandu and working at a high school in Nairobi.

Having gained experience of charities across the whole spectrum – as trustee, employee, volunteer and auditor – Alison is uniquely placed to provide advice on both operational and strategic matters.

Josh manages a large portfolio of clients across a variety of industries, including both charities and companies. He manages the firm’s accounting and bookkeeping function as well as taking a hands-on role providing bookkeeping, management accounts, statutory accounts, tax, training and consultancy services to clients.

Outside Godfrey Wilson Josh is an avid runner, footballer and cyclist with a passion for a wide range of music.

Rob has also worked in a number of interim senior finance roles, including Financial Controller for one of the country’s leading PR firms, Head of Finance for a sports PR firm, and Head of Finance for a school of 3D animation and CGI.

At Godfrey Wilson, Rob’s work includes consultancy, management accounting, budgeting, payroll, company formations, installation of accounting software and year end accounts. His strengths lie in helping organisations through periods of growth and change by building a sound financial and technological infrastructure to support expansion.

Recent work assignments have included: the installation of a computerised accounting system capable of tracking numerous, complex restricted funds and automatically producing a variety of bespoke reports; the overhaul and improvement of the financial procedures for an international events company; and writing a business plan for an international fair trade company seeking to raise finance.

Rob enjoys raising money for charity by taking part in endurance sporting events. He regularly competes in triathlons and marathons.
